this group is to bring together researchers with an interest in
soft
materials, molecular forces, biophysics, molecular electronics
and fluid dynamics to discuss their work and explore
collaborations.

At present, we are organizing two different initiatives: The seminar series “Colloid & Soft Matter Bag Lunches”, organized by Prof. Behrens, brings together once a month researchers from Georgia Tech and Emory to assist to two seminars (one technical and the other one with state of the art research and open questions) presented by local speakers. AND The workshop series "Southeast Meetings on Soft Materials", held twice a year, once in Georgia Tech and once in Emory. The 1st Southeast Meeting on Soft Materials, on May 9, 2008, had more than 100 participants from GT and Emory, 45 short presentations, 3 invited speakers (Lyon, Goldman and Kindt) and 1 keynote speaker, Prof. David Weitz from the Physics Department of Harvard University. |
